'Be the best you can be'

Visions, Values and Aims

VISION

In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus teaches us to 'Love your neighbour as you love yourself'. It is from this that we get our key Christian values of Care, Courage, Respect and Responsibility. These provide a nurturing environment where we encourage the children and staff to 'Be the best that they can be'.

Following the example of the Good Samaritan, we are an inclusive school, serving equally those of all faiths or none through the provision of an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.

VALUES:

Our Christian Values underpin everyday life.

  • Be Caring
  • Be Courageous
  • Be Respectful
  • Be Responsible

WE AIM TO:

  • Build on our Christian foundations to provide a secure, safe and happy environment where children are nurtured;
  • Provide the highest quality education through a stimulating, broad and balanced curriculum with the right amount of challenge and support;
  • Value every member of the school community, build confidence and celebrate strengths;
  • Encourage each child to recognise their own potential by developing effective learning and life strategies to be the best that they can be;
  • Promote respect for others, the environment and the wider world;
  • Encourage children to take responsibility for their own learning by developing good habits, self-discipline and encourage an enquiring mind;
  • Support children to have the courage to try new things, learn by taking risks, and develop resilience and integrity to make positive choices;
  • Nurture children to become caring individuals, to care for themselves and others;
  • Value the role of parents and carers as partners in the learning process;
  • Ensure inclusivity by providing equal access and opportunity for all pupils;
  • Support all staff by providing opportunities for their professional development.
