June 03 - Congratulations to the website team in Year 6, as well as Gill Rhodes (our ICT Technician), for the outstanding success of not only winning the Junior Oxfordshire category for Best Website, but also the overall Silver Challenge Cup for site of excellence.  The trophy is in the Reception area and we will retain it for the next two years.  In addition to digital cameras for each of the website team, the school benefits enormously from a brand new computer.
We went to the prize giving ceremony for the B.S.C. web competition on Friday 29th June to receive our prize and certificate. We came second. Click on the pictures to enlarge them.
Every year we have a gala, ten local  schools take part. Our school have won it 4 years running, this year (2001) we won with a score of 91 points. This was  nearly double the score of the school  that came 2nd. Hagbourne came 1st, with 91 points. Chilton came 2nd with 46 points,  Greenmere came 3rd. award.jpg (13445 bytes) We have won a prize for being a runner up in the Oxfordshire business of the year award, in the developing people category. This is the first time any Oxford year school has got to the final.
We first won this award in 1999. We are the only school in Oxfordshire to have won this award.  We are very proud of our work to help the environment. .

Last year our school won the Didcot and District swimming shield. The Juniors swim at the Didcot wave swimming pool for several weeks in the year. From Easter to October our own School pool is open and every class swims at least once a week.

In the year 1998/99 our school received the International school award. That year we had some children from a Greek school come and stay with the family's of children from our school. We played with the Greek children and learnt some Greek games and songs.
In 1998 our school won the Silver Rover Environmental challenge
In 1997 our school won the Bronze Rover Environmental challenge
