After a short period off line, the site is back and is now being hosted by RM. The website provides lesson plans, activity ideas and resources for primary teachers and is well worth a visit

Citizenship

 

Time For Citizenship  - This site is much more than children, police, teachers and the NSPCC working with the Internet and the WWW. It is about action in the community and that really is at the heart of the project. It is hoped that children will learn to become more involved in activities which will allow them to grow into more caring citizens.

Geography/Mapping

Adventure Ecology - Help save the world from Global warming! An online adventure for year 6 and above

http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/education/ - provides information on using maps in learning at all levels. The site includes a selection of free on-line and downloadable resources for teachers and students, including historical maps. There are also ideas for using maps in the classroom. The Understand Mapping pages include a glossary of map reading terms, a guide to GIS (geographical information systems) and help with developing map-reading skills. If your school teaches Year 7 pupils, make sure it registers on the site to receive a free map for each pupil in that year group. This is a highly suitable site for Primary pupils and teachers too.
