Time For Citizenship - This site is much more than children, police, teachers and the NSPCC working with the Internet and the WWW. It is about action in the community and that really is at the heart of the project. The site includes a selection of free on-line and downloadable resources for teachers and students, including historical maps. There are also ideas for using maps in the classroom. The Understand Mapping pages include a glossary of map reading terms, a guide to GIS (geographical information systems) and help with developing map-reading skills.
